Prayer For Lost Loved Ones

Lord of life and death, 
today we remember the lives and deaths of all those close to us in this life: 
members of our family and lifelong friends. 
Their lives have touched our lives, 
added to the richness of our existence. 
We pause to recall the good times that we shared together with them. 
We have been blessed with memorable treasures which we will carry with us into eternity.
And in the midst of your divine plan, our life pathways came together and blended in the beautiful tapestry of pathways. 
We are grateful today for all we share in the times together: 
for the humour and work; 
for affection and trust; 
for the celebration of life. 
Lord of compassion, 
we are mournful sinners in need of divine healing, 
so please grant to all our loved ones and friends whatever is needed so they can rejoice forever in your divine friendship in your eternal care. 
Gracious Lord, we lift up from the heart, 
all those we have loved and cared for in this life 
and ask that you grant them eternal peace 
in your perpetual company of your saints in heaven.
